The architectural complex by Puig i Cadafalch was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1976 and receives roughly 100,000 visitors per year. Codorniu holds three of the Cava de Paraje Calificado approved sites: Finca el Tros Nou, Finca la Pleta and Finca la Fideuera.

Tasting: Cellar tours of the modernist Cathedral of Cava designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch (1898-1915), including 33 km of underground galleries up to 22 metres deep. Train ride through the galleries, museum visit and tasting flight. Reservation required.

The current cellars in Sant Sadurni were built between 1920 and 1929 and inscribed in the BCIN heritage register. Cordon Negro launched in 1974 in the black frosted bottle that became the global Cava reference. The Casa Sala paraje is part of the Cava de Paraje Calificado category.

Tasting: Multilingual 90-minute tours of the 1920s cellar by the Sant Sadurni train station, with a tourist-train ride around the property and a tasting of Carta Nevada, Cordon Negro and a Reserva. Reservation required for tours; the modern tasting room is walk-in.

In April 2026 the estate left DO Cava to become the 22nd Corpinnat member and the brand's largest producer, adding over 2.5 million bottles to the collective.

Tasting: Guided cellar tour with vertical tastings of Reserva de la Familia, Milesime Chardonnay and La Capella. The La Capella tasting takes place in the estate's namesake chapel space. Reservation required.

Listed in the 2022 World's Best Vineyards ranking. The family operates roughly 2,300 hectares across Penedes, Conca de Barbera, Priorat, Costers del Segre and beyond.

Founded 1942 in Vilafranca del Penedes by Don Jose Maria Tetas. The original modernist buildings remain in operation in the historic centre next to the train station; a new estate cellar at Mas Muntanyans, 10 km west, opened in 2019 with biodynamic vineyards and experimental vessels (granite eggs, amphoras, ceramic barrels).

Tasting: Two cellars open to visitors: the original modernist 1942 winery in the historic centre of Vilafranca by the train station, plus the modern Mas Muntanyans estate 10 km away with biodynamic vineyards, granite eggs, amphoras and ceramic barrels.

Anna de Codorniu Brut is one of the first widely distributed Chardonnay-led Cavas, named for Anna de Codorniu, the wife of Miquel Raventos who joined the two families. It pairs Chardonnay's apple and citrus with the three classic Cava varieties and around 15 months on lees.

Tip: The pink and rose versions of Anna de Codorniu use Pinot Noir; the base Brut bottling here is the Chardonnay-led blanc.
