Sub-appellations of Priorat

Gratallops (Gratallops Vi de Vila)

The epicentre of modern Priorat, where the 1989 renaissance began. Narrow streets, terraced vineyards and most of the region's top estates all within a few kilometres.

Porrera (Porrera Vi de Vila)

Quiet hilltop village with century-old Cariñena parcels on extreme-gradient costers, including the Gran Vinya Classificada Mas de la Rosa.

Torroja del Priorat (Torroja Vi de Vila)

A peaceful stone village off the main wine route but home to one of the DOQ's most influential minimal-intervention producers and several old-vine parcels of extreme altitude.

Bellmunt del Priorat (Bellmunt Vi de Vila)

A small village on the eastern edge of the DOQ, anchored by the L'Ermita hillside and the 125-hectare Mas d'en Gil estate, combining CAAE-certified organic farming with dramatic valley views.

Escaladei (Scala Dei/Escaladei Vi de Vila)

Ruined Carthusian cloisters surrounded by high-altitude vineyards at the foot of the Montsant cliffs, where monks first brought wine culture to Priorat in the 12th century.

La Vilella Alta (La Vilella Alta Vi de Vila)

One of Priorat's more isolated hamlets, where the altitude and aspect push ripening later than in Gratallops, creating wines of distinct freshness alongside the region's characteristic intensity.
