Aroma: white peach, pear, acacia blossom, light honey

Palate: ripe stone fruit, gentle sweetness, fine foam, citrus

Drusian is the flagship Extra Dry from Foss Marai, named after the locality of the Guia vineyards. Softer and more aromatic than the Brut, with white peach and acacia blossom in an off-dry, easy-drinking style.

What it pairs with

  • Carpaccio di bresaola con rucola
Off-dry softness contrasts the saltiness of air-dried beef and peppery rocket.
  • Crostini con crema di salmone
Creamy salmon spread is lifted by the wine's gentle sweetness and effervescence.

History

The Drusian Extra Dry was developed to give Foss Marai a presence in the Extra Dry category that dominates Italian domestic and export Prosecco sales. Named for the Drusian area of the Guia sub-zone, it became the estate's best-selling label.

  1. 1985 — Foss Marai launches Drusian Extra Dry as the flagship accessible label.
