In the glass
Aroma: white peach, pear, acacia blossom, fresh almonds
Palate: citrus zest, green apple, mineral, light cream
The benchmark entry-level Prosecco Superiore DOCG from Nino Franco. Pale straw with fine persistent perlage; white stone fruit and floral notes lead to a crisp, dry finish.
What it pairs with
-
Antipasto misto veneto
Effervescence and high acidity cut through cured meats and marinated vegetables. -
Grilled white fish
Delicate floral character complements lean lake fish without overpowering. -
Fresh goat's cheese
Lactic softness of the cheese echoes the wine's light cream texture.
History
Rustico has been the entry-point to the Nino Franco portfolio since the house was founded in 1919 in Valdobbiadene. Primo Franco relaunched the label in the 1970s as a quality benchmark for the zone, focusing on pure Glera from estate and contracted Conegliano Valdobbiadene hillside plots.
- 1919 — Nino Franco founds the Valdobbiadene house and begins producing Rustico as the core expression.
- 1975 — Primo Franco assumes winemaking and sharpens the Rustico style to emphasise freshness over sweetness.
