Aroma: redcurrant, wild strawberry, dried rose

Palate: redcurrant, cranberry, light spice

Poulsard gives the palest reds in France, barely more than a deep rose in colour and very low in tannin. The domaine works old vines and talks about the delicacy and aerial character of the grape, with fifteen months in foudre keeping any wood influence out of the way.

What it pairs with

  • Charcuterie
Low tannin and high acidity are made for cured pork.
  • Roast salmon
A pale, light bodied red is one of the few that works with oily fish.
  • Raclette
The Jura table pours Poulsard with melted cheese plates.
