What it pairs with

  • Chicken terrine with pistachios
Light-bodied Regnié suits delicate charcuterie preparations.
  • Strawberry salad with mint
The soft red-fruit character of Regnié has a natural affinity with fresh strawberries.
  • Grilled sardines with lemon
One of the rare reds suited to oily fish, Regnié's light tannin works well here.

History

Burgaud expanded into the Regnié appellation in the mid-1990s. Regnié, the youngest Beaujolais cru (1988), sits on lighter granitic-sandy soils and produces the most fragrant, early-drinking of the crus.
