In the glass
Aroma: strawberry, rose petal, light citrus, herbs
Palate: fresh berry, crisp acidity, light tannin, mineral finish
Cavalchina's Chiaretto Classico extends the estate's Lake Garda portfolio from white to rosato. Brief skin contact on Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara produces a pale copper-pink wine with fresh berry and rose aromatics; dry and food-versatile.
What it pairs with
-
Garda lake perch fillets
The classic Garda pairing: pale Chiaretto with the region's prized lake fish. -
Cold pasta salad
Light body and refreshing acidity suit warm-weather pasta dishes. -
Grilled vegetables with olive oil
Dry, mineral rosato complements the slightly charred, earthy character of grilled vegetable antipasto.
History
Cavalchina's Chiaretto draws on the estate's proximity to the Bardolino Classico zone along the eastern Garda shore. Though Cavalchina is primarily known for Bianco di Custoza, the Chiaretto expresses the estate's dual Lake Garda heritage from glacial moraine soils.
- 2005 — Cavalchina launches a Bardolino Chiaretto Classico DOC to complement the Custoza whites.
