History
Cavalchina at Sommacampagna was one of the pioneer estates at the Bianco di Custoza DOC's inception in 1971. The morainic amphitheatre south of Lake Garda is a glacially deposited mix of different soils ideal for white wine blends. The Piona family has championed the multi-varietal Custoza style since the DOC's foundation.
- 1971 — Bianco di Custoza DOC established; Cavalchina among the founding producers.
- 1974 — Cavalchina officially launched as an estate; first Bianco di Custoza DOC production.
