In the glass
Aroma: white blossom, green apple, citrus zest, light almond
Palate: crisp mineral, clean citrus, apple fruit, dry finish
The Gorgo estate at Custoza di Valeggio sul Mincio produces one of the most consistently mineral Bianco di Custoza expressions. The morainic glacial soils on the southern slope of the Lake Garda amphitheatre impart a saline mineral quality to the Garganega-Trebbiano-Cortese blend.
What it pairs with
-
Pesce di lago alla griglia (grilled lake fish)
Classic Custoza DOC and lake fish pairing from the Garda region. -
Risotto al limone
Mineral acidity and citrus thread echo and amplify a lemon-accented risotto. -
Crostini with white truffle
Light mineral white does not compete with truffle but provides a clean counterpoint.
History
Gorgo was founded in 1966 on the glacial moraine south of Lake Garda. The estate's position on the gentle southern slope of the morainic amphitheatre, with its mix of glacially deposited soils, produces a Bianco di Custoza of mineral precision.
