Aroma: integrated oak, citrus peel, tropical fruit
Palate: broad volume, mineral grip, very long persistence
Barrel-fermented Encruzado with a fifth left unoaked: the wood is visible but folded into citrus and tropical fruit, and the finish runs very long.
Light straw and perfectly clear, with good aromatic intensity where oak notes are still present but well integrated with citric and tropical notes. The palate has volume and structure with remarkable freshness and a very long, persistent finish.
Eighty percent of the blend is Encruzado fermented and aged for ten months in new French oak barrels; the balance of Cerceal, Bical, Malvasia Fina and Gouveio sees no wood at all.
The estate says it satisfies lovers of young wine but was made for long ageing. Serve at 12C to 14C.
