Aroma: dark blackcurrant, pine resin, sweet spice, cocoa
Palate: full weight, very persistent close, youthful grip
Two years in barrel by variety before blending, dark and spicy, with cocoa and vanilla behind blackcurrant and pine.
Dark ruby and brilliant, with an intense, spicy and complex fruit bouquet of wild blackcurrant and pine leaves plus vanilla and chocolate from the oak. Full bodied on the palate with a very persistent finish and the astringency of youth.
The varieties are fermented and aged separately for 24 months in 225 litre French oak barrels, and the blend is assembled only after the best barrels of each varietal wine have been selected.
The estate expects it to be far more complex at twenty years. Decant young bottles and serve at 16C.
