History

Grotte Alte is Occhipinti's Classico Cerasuolo di Vittoria, from vines about 40 years old planted at 6,000 per hectare on the limestone ridges on which Vittoria stands, in brown sands over calcareous sub-Apennine rock. It is harvested in the first ten days of October and spends four years in large French oak. The producer states biodynamic farming and organic certification.
