Aroma: cherry, dried herbs, plum, mineral clay

Palate: red cherry, dried fig, herbal, firm acidity

Valle dell'Acate's classic DOCG blend from six generations of Jacono family organic farming: bright cherry and dried-herb aromatics with firm Vittoria-terroir acidity and mineral persistence.

What it pairs with

  • Pasta al ragu di maiale
Classic Southern Italian red meat ragu finds its benchmark match in Cerasuolo di Vittoria.
  • Rabbit stuffed with herbs
The wine's herbal notes mirror the herb stuffing; medium tannin supports the lean meat.
  • Grilled pork with caponata
Frappato's brightness lifts the sweet-sour relish while Nero d'Avola holds the pork.

History

The Jacono family has farmed 70 hectares at Acate in the Ragusa province for six generations. Gaetana Jacono began bottling their Cerasuolo di Vittoria under estate label in the late 1990s, establishing one of the DOCG's most respected organic producers.

  1. 1998 — Estate bottling of Cerasuolo di Vittoria under Valle dell'Acate label begins
  2. 2005 — Receives Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG classification
