Speri's Le Bine de Jago Recioto represents the traditional sweet red wine of Valpolicella before Amarone became dominant; the fermentation-arrested fruit preserves Corvina's characteristic high acidity beneath the luscious chocolate-cherry sweetness.

What it pairs with

  • Tiramisu
The wine's coffee-chocolate notes are a natural match for the Venetian-origin dessert.
  • Gorgonzola Dolcelatte
Sweet Recioto bridges the creamy, mild blue saltiness of Dolcelatte beautifully.

History

Speri's Le Bine de Jago ('the vines of Jago', using old Veronese dialect) is named for the Jago hillside in Fumane where the grapes for Recioto are carefully selected from the uppermost bunches with highest sugar concentration.

  1. 1978 — First Le Bine de Jago Recioto Classico release from the Jago hillside selection
