Intense with concentrated cherry and redcurrant, then dense ripe forest fruits with a pinch of dark chocolate: an unusual dessert red of power and elegance, harmonious and seductive, at 100 to 110 grams per litre of sugar.
The estate explains that Recioto takes its name from the Veronese dialect recia, meaning ear, for the two wings of the bunch, and notes that Recioto was the first wine of the Veneto to earn DOCG status. Le Ragose limits production to ten to twenty hectolitres a year.
The estate publishes 100 to 110 grams per litre of residual sugar, at 14 to 14.5 degrees of alcohol.
Le Ragose explains that the name comes from the Veronese dialect word recia, meaning ear, for the two wings of the grape bunch, and more generally for the smaller bunches suited to drying.
The producer suggests chocolate and almond desserts and dry pastry, plus some pairings with blue-veined cheeses. Serve slightly cool.
