Capitel Monte Olmi is Tedeschi's single-vineyard prestige Amarone, from the Monte Olmi hill above San Pietro in Cariano, with exceptional concentration and finesse, reflecting one of the oldest family estates in Valpolicella.

What it pairs with

  • Braised ox tail alla vaccinara
The wine's iron minerality and dark chocolate note match the sweet-sour tomato braise.
  • Aged Grana Padano 30 months
Nutty, crystalline Grana provides umami contrast to the wine's dried-fruit density.

History

Tedeschi has farmed the Monte Olmi vineyard since the 19th century, and their single-vineyard Amarone from this cru has been one of the appellation's most acclaimed since the 1970s. The six-generation family estate remains one of the oldest continuous producers in Valpolicella Classico.

  1. 1969 — First Capitel Monte Olmi single-vineyard Amarone release
  2. 1824 — Tedeschi family vineyard origins in Valpolicella Classico
