Old-vine Touriga Nacional foot-trodden in granite and kept out of barrel: ripe blackberry and plum with violet, bergamot and warm spice.
Ruby red, with high aromatic complexity where ripe wild fruits such as blackberry and ripe plum combine with a floral touch of violet and bergamot and spice notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate is full bodied and elegant, unfolding in layers of wild fruit with ripe cherry and redcurrant over fine, silky tannins.
Grapes from old vines are hand picked and sorted, fermented traditionally in a granite lagar with foot treading for ten days and minimal intervention, then aged fourteen months in stainless steel.
The estate says it is ready to drink but has great ageing potential.
