What it pairs with
-
Lobster with herb butter
281's saline and almond texture matches herb-and-shellfish dishes; body handles butter. -
Pan-fried turbot with hollandaise
Rich white fish with egg-yolk sauce meets the wine's wax-almond depth and saline finish. -
Roast poularde with truffle
Butter-stuffed truffled chicken meets the rose's body and tangerine-saline register. -
Aged Vacherin Mont d'Or
The melted soft cheese aligns with the rose's almond texture; acidity refreshes the fat.
History
Minuty launched 281 in 2018 as the estate's flagship premium rose, drawing from a single-vineyard parcel at 281 metres above sea level (hence the name). The cuvee is partially old-oak fermented and designed to compete with Garrus and other ultra-premium roses.

Frequently asked about Chateau Minuty 281 Rose
What does Minuty 281 taste like?
White peach, tangerine peel, almond and white flower on the nose; nectarine, blood orange, saline and wax on the palate. Medium-bodied with high acidity and a long saline finish.
When should I drink Minuty 281?
Drink between 2 and 7 years from vintage. The partial oak fermentation gives the cuvee real cellaring potential; bottles often peak between year 3 and 5.
Is Minuty 281 vegan?
Yes. Minuty does not use animal-derived fining agents on 281.
What food pairs with Minuty 281?
Lobster with herb butter is the canonical pairing. Pan-fried turbot with hollandaise, roast poularde with truffle and aged Vacherin Mont d'Or are equally strong matches.
What does the name 281 refer to?
281 metres is the elevation of the single Minuty vineyard parcel from which the cuvee is sourced, an upper-slope block above the Bay of Saint-Tropez. The altitude gives the wine more aromatic lift and acidity than valley-floor blocks.
