In the glass
Aroma: white peach, elderflower, grapefruit, fennel
Palate: stone fruit, citrus, herbal, mineral depth
Created for the fiftieth anniversary of Lucio and Franca Tasca's wedding, Nozze d'Oro pairs Inzolia's stone-fruit softness with Sauvignon Blanc's aromatic herbal freshness in an enduring premium Sicilian white.
What it pairs with
-
Spaghetti alle vongole
Mineral acidity and elderflower lift are classic matches for clams in white wine sauce. -
Pan-fried sole
The wine's herbal freshness and stone fruit complement delicate pan-fried flatfish. -
Sicilian caponata fresca
Herbal acidity bridges the sweet-sour aubergine-caper relish of caponata.
History
Tasca d'Almerita created Nozze d'Oro in 1980 to mark the golden wedding anniversary of Lucio and Franca Tasca d'Almerita. Blending the native Inzolia with Sauvignon Blanc was innovative for Sicily at the time and the wine has remained one of the estate's most recognisable whites.
