Guigal's flagship Hermitage from a specific parcel on the granite hill of Tain. Dense, mineral 100% Syrah with black fruit, leather and oriental spice complexity.

What it pairs with

  • Roast leg of lamb with garlic and rosemary
The classic Hermitage and Rhone lamb pairing; mineral Syrah and lamb fat are natural companions.
  • Venison daube with orange zest
Game intensity and the wine's granite structure create a compelling partnership.
  • Braised oxtail
Slow-cooked collagen-rich beef matches the wine's concentrated dark fruit register.

History

Ex-Voto was first produced in 2007 from a specific parcel of old Syrah vines on the Hermitage hill. The name means votive offering. It is Guigal's most concentrated and expensive Hermitage.
