La Turque bridges La Mouline's floral elegance and La Landonne's iron power with exotic spice, dark chocolate, and 7% co-fermented Viognier.

What it pairs with

  • Venison with dark berry reduction
The exotic spice and dark fruit match gamey venison perfectly.
  • Black truffle tagliatelle
Chocolate and earthy notes create harmony with black truffle.
  • Roast pigeon with spiced jus
The wine's exotic spice register complements the pigeon's richness.

History

The last of the three single-vineyard Guigal cuvees, La Turque was first produced in 1985. It derives from a plot on the Cote Brune with some Cote Blonde influence, co-fermented with a small percentage of Viognier.

  1. 1985 — First vintage of La Turque completes the Guigal single-vineyard trilogy
