Lu Patri is Baglio del Cristo's prestige Nero d'Avola from chalky limestone soils near Agrigento: opulent dark fruit, chocolate and mineral depth from one of the island's most acclaimed organic Nero d'Avola producers.
What it pairs with
-
Slow-cooked lamb with wild herbs
Firm tannin and concentrated fruit meet the intensity of slow-cooked herb-seasoned lamb. -
Aged caciocavallo
The wine's chocolate depth and firm structure are excellent partners for well-aged Sicilian cow's-milk cheese. -
Wild mushroom risotto
Earthy mineral notes in the wine complement the forest mushroom earthiness.
History
The Bonetta family founded Baglio del Cristo di Campobello in 2000, and Lu Patri quickly emerged as their prestige expression. The Sicilian dialect name translates as 'the father' and represents the estate's oldest and finest Nero d'Avola fruit from chalky-limestone calcareous soils.
