Firriato's Bordeaux-style blend from the Trapani hinterland: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown in Sicily's sun produce a richly ripe interpretation of the classic Bordeaux blend with a warm cedar-tobacco finish.

What it pairs with

  • Grilled Florentine steak
A Bordeaux-style blend finds its classic pairing with char-grilled bone-in beef.
  • Braised pork cheeks
Dark fruit richness and firm tannin complement slow-braised collagen-rich pork.
  • Aged pecorino piccante
Cedar and tobacco depth are structural matches for sharp aged sheep's-milk cheese.

History

Firriato created Camelot in 1997 as their prestige Bordeaux-varietal blend, recognising that Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown in Sicily's warm western interior could produce an internationally styled wine. It became the flagship of their large multi-estate range.
