What it pairs with
-
Veal paprikash with egg noodles
The wine's fuller body and acidity stand up well to the cream-enriched paprika sauce. -
Pan-fried pike-perch
High-acid Furmint is a classic pairing with the Tisza valley's characteristic freshwater fish. -
Goat's cheese salad with honey dressing
The wine's ripe fruit and acidity balance the sweet-tangy dressing.
History
Papp Pince in Tarcal occupies south-facing volcanic terraces on Kopasz-hegy (Bald Hill), one of the warmest vine-growing sites in the entire Tokaj PDO. The historically classified Mézes Mály vineyard is a short distance away; the family tends plots in this same sun-drenched area.
