What it pairs with

  • Grilled trout with lemon butter
The wine's racy acidity and citrus notes complement the delicate fish and cut through the butter.
  • Langoustine with herb mayonnaise
Mineral salinity mirrors the brininess of shellfish; the acidity refreshes the palate.
  • Goat's cheese salad
Tangy chèvre finds an echo in the wine's citrus-mineral register.

History

Launched under Royal Tokaji's modern dry-Furmint range to demonstrate the grape's potential beyond sweet Aszú. The name reflects the estate's view that dry Furmint from Mád was still an unusual choice when first bottled.

  1. 2013 — First vintage of The Oddity released
  2. 2018 — Wine adopted stainless-steel and old barrel maturation to emphasise mineral purity
