What it pairs with
-
Grilled trout with lemon butter
The wine's racy acidity and citrus notes complement the delicate fish and cut through the butter. -
Langoustine with herb mayonnaise
Mineral salinity mirrors the brininess of shellfish; the acidity refreshes the palate. -
Goat's cheese salad
Tangy chèvre finds an echo in the wine's citrus-mineral register.
History
Launched under Royal Tokaji's modern dry-Furmint range to demonstrate the grape's potential beyond sweet Aszú. The name reflects the estate's view that dry Furmint from Mád was still an unusual choice when first bottled.
- 2013 — First vintage of The Oddity released
- 2018 — Wine adopted stainless-steel and old barrel maturation to emphasise mineral purity
