What it pairs with

  • Roasted veal sweetbreads
The wine's concentration and spice match richly prepared offal; acidity provides counterbalance.
  • Langoustines with tarragon butter
The wine's exotic spice and mineral lift complement delicate shellfish and anise herbs.
  • Aged Gruyère
Nutty, crystalline aged cheese amplifies the wine's pepper-spice register.

History

The M (formerly labelled Unendlich in some markets) represents the highest tier in the F.X. Pichler range, produced only in outstanding vintages from the best Grüner Veltliner parcels. It embodies the estate's philosophy that Wachau Grüner can achieve the same concentration and longevity as the great Rieslings.

  1. 1986 — First release of the reserve-tier Grüner Veltliner Smaragd from Kellerberg and Liebenberg parcels
  2. 1998 — Label redesign consolidates the reserve-tier identity of the M (formerly Unendlich) cuvée
