MunJebel Rosso is the accessible entry into the Cornelissen range: zero-sulphur Nerello Mascalese from multiple contrade, vibrant and mineral, embodying the Etna natural-wine philosophy in an everyday format.

What it pairs with

  • Grilled vegetable platter with herbs
The wine's herb notes and mineral freshness pair beautifully with chargrilled vegetables.
  • Pasta with tomato and olives
Light-medium body and bright acidity are a natural match for simple Sicilian pasta.
  • Grilled lamb sausages
The wine's fresh mineral and herb character complements grilled lamb naturally.

History

MunJebel (Arabic/Sicilian for 'mountain' - referring to Etna, literally 'Mountain of Fire') is the entry-level Cornelissen red, blending fruit from multiple contrade on the north slope. It provides an accessible introduction to the zero-sulphur, minimal-intervention approach of the estate, and is produced in larger quantities than the single-contrada wines.
