Palate: red berry, citrus lift, light spritz, off-dry close

The pink half of the Casal Garcia umbrella: native red-grape rose with strawberry and watermelon aromatics and a light off-dry spritz.

What it pairs with

  • Grilled prawns
Strawberry and citrus lift partner sweet grilled shellfish; the off-dry close balances any char.
  • Tomato bruschetta
Native-red-grape acidity matches tomato; the spritz cuts olive-oil richness.
  • Spicy chicken skewers
Off-dry residual sugar and low-alcohol drive tame chilli heat; raspberry aromatics partner sweet-and-spicy glazes.
  • Summer picnic
Watermelon-and-strawberry aromatic register makes it the textbook beach-pic rosé.

History

The Casal Garcia Rosé was added to the umbrella in the mid-1990s as the international rosé wave reached Iberia. Made from native red grapes (Espadeiro and Padeiro) rather than international varieties, keeping the Vinho Verde character.

Frequently asked about Casal Garcia Vinho Rosé

What does Casal Garcia Rosé taste like?

Strawberry, raspberry, watermelon and spring flowers on the nose; red berry, citrus lift, light spritz and an off-dry close on the palate. Light-bodied with low tannin, high acidity and a medium refreshing finish.

Is Casal Garcia Rosé sweet?

Off-dry. There is a touch of residual sugar that softens the high natural acidity, but the wine is not overtly sweet. The fruit-forward aromatic register can read sweeter than it actually is.

What grapes are in Casal Garcia Rosé?

Native Vinho Verde red varieties Espadeiro and Padeiro, picked early to preserve acidity and given brief skin contact for colour.

What food pairs with Casal Garcia Rosé?

Grilled prawns, tomato bruschetta, spicy chicken skewers and summer picnic spreads. Versatile across light savoury dishes.
