Alvaro Palacios established his Priorat estate in 1989 as one of the five founding producers of modern Priorat. His L'Ermita vineyard in Bellmunt del Priorat holds Gran Vinya Classificada status, the highest tier of the DOQ Priorat classification.

Founded in 2005 by pharmaceutical entrepreneur Sergi Ferrer-Salat and former Torres technical director Raul Bobet, Ferrer Bobet focuses on old-vine Garnacha and Cariñena from the mountain terrain between Falset and Porrera.
