    Afternoon
Drive 20 minutes to the ruins of Cartoixa d'Escaladei, the 1163 Carthusian monastery that gave Priorat its name. The ruins are open to visitors and interpretation panels explain the monastic wine heritage. Return to Falset via La Morera de Montsant for a view of the Montsant massif.

Final Priorat dinner in Falset before a morning departure for Penedes.
  3. Day 3

    Morning
Drive from Falset to Sant Sadurni d'Anoia (about 1 hour 30 minutes). Morning visit to Recaredo, which produces certified biodynamic Cava from a single estate. The cellar tour includes the underground galleries and a tasting of the Terrers range.

Harvest week in Priorat, 5 days ★ 4.9

  1. Day 1

    Afternoon
Appointment at Clos Mogador or Buil & Gine to taste the new fermentation from the year's first-harvested varieties. Winemakers in Priorat are busy but some welcome serious visitors during fermentation for a brief taste of the vintage in progress.
    Evening
    Dinner in Gratallops or Falset.
  2. Day 2

    Morning
Early morning walk to the Garnacha terraces above Gratallops to observe picking crews. The harvest typically begins before 7am to pick in the cooler morning hours. Pickers on licorella slopes are a photogenic scene but visitors should not approach active picking crews.
    Afternoon
Visit Cellers Cecilio in Gratallops, the village's oldest family winery, which maintains traditional open-top fermentation vessels for harvest reception.
    Evening
    Evening in Gratallops.
  3. Day 3

    Evening
Return to Falset for the evening.
  4. Day 4

Morning visit to Terroir Al Limit in Torroja del Priorat for a harvest-period tasting. Dominik Huber's whole-cluster approach means the winery is particularly active in September and tasting the whole-cluster fermentation alongside the pressed wine is a comparative education.
    Afternoon
Depart Priorat for Barcelona, Tarragona, or onward.
    Evening
    Arrive at destination.
