In the glass
Aroma: white peach, lemon blossom, volcanic mineral, green herbs
Palate: citrus zest, green apple, saline mineral, chalky finish
Planeta's Etna Carricante from the Sciaranuova estate: the volcanic freshness of the north slope expressed through Planeta's clean, precise winemaking style.
What it pairs with
-
Grilled sea bass with Sicilian caponata
Mineral-saline Carricante bridges the fish and the sweet-sour aubergine caponata. -
Fresh burrata with Sicilian cherry tomatoes
Racy acidity and mineral character cut through the creamy burrata's richness. -
Spaghetti con vongole
Classic pairing: saline-mineral wine and briny clams in harmony.
History
Planeta's Carricante from the Sciaranuova estate was introduced in 2010 as the white complement to the Nerello Mascalese red. Carricante on the north slope in the Solicchiata area reflects the volcanic character in a slightly different register from the Milo east-slope Carricante, with a cleaner and more linear citrus style.
