History

Hochrain (high rain) is a Ried in the Joching area producing full-bodied Grüner Veltliner on gneiss-dominated soils. Josef Jamek's Hochrain Smaragd was one of the first wines from the estate to demonstrate the quality of the Joching terroir for Grüner Veltliner.
