What it pairs with

  • Duck liver with toast
The traditional Aszú pairing; sweet-acid balance handles the richness of liver.
  • Walnut honey cake
Honey and walnut notes echo the wine's sweet-spice character.
  • Brie with apricot jam
Soft cheese and apricot jam are a natural partner for 5-puttonyos Aszú.

History

Erzsébet Pince began Aszú production in the early post-1989 era, using the traditional Bem Street cellars in Tokaj town. As one of the first family-run cellars to revive private Aszú production after the state-farm era, the estate holds historical significance for the region's revival.

  1. 1993 — First Erzsébet Pince Aszú in the post-Communist private era
