The village wine of Corullón: power held in check by floral freshness and slate minerality, with a silky, refined texture from French oak.
Villa de Corullón assembles a selection of roughly 200 parcels on the steep slate hillsides of the Corullón municipality, a site combining Mediterranean and Atlantic influence. It sits between Pétalos and the single-site bottlings in the estate's range.
Mountain flowers, wet slate and dark cherry on the nose, with a silky texture and mineral grip on the palate. Medium bodied with firm tannin, high acidity and a long finish.
From a selection of around 200 parcels on the steep slate slopes of Corullón, in the western Bierzo, where Mediterranean and Atlantic influences meet.
Drink between four and eighteen years from vintage. Younger bottles reward an hour of air.
Lechazo asado is the classic match; wild mushroom rice and aged Castilian sheep cheese also work well.
