Critic scores

No critic score is published for this bottle that we can cite with a reviewer, a vintage and a review year, so none is shown. The rating in the header is our own.

What it pairs with

  • Botillo with cabbage and potato
The village blend has enough grip for the smoked pork and enough freshness for the cabbage.
  • Grilled pork ribs
Used-barrel ageing leaves the fruit forward against charred meat.
  • Chickpea and chorizo stew
A field-blend red suits the pulses without dominating them.

History

Valtuille Vino de Villa gathers fruit from several cool parcels in the village, among them La Rata next to El Rapolao, Mata los Pardos beside Villegas, and the stonier El Val. Around a quarter to a third of the crop goes into 5,000 litre wooden foudres as whole bunches, ferments on wild yeast and macerates about 60 days.
