La Faraona comes from a single high-altitude parcel and is made in very small quantities, the most personal of Ricardo Pérez Palacios's parcel projects at Descendientes de J. Palacios. Its style prioritises finesse over power.
Medium intensity, with fresh red fruit and floral notes rather than overt ripeness. The palate is balanced and silky, with well-integrated acidity and very fine tannins, and the finish is long.
It comes from one high-altitude parcel at Corullón and is made in very small volumes, which puts it among the scarcest bottlings in Spain.
Drink between six and thirty years from vintage. Its delicacy rewards careful, slow decanting rather than aggressive aeration.
Lean game such as roast partridge, sweetbreads, or wild mushrooms on toast. Avoid heavy sauces that would cover the floral register.
