History

Bioweingut Schmidl in Unterloiben is one of the few certified biodynamic/organic estates in the Loiben cluster. The estate has practiced biodynamic viticulture since the late 20th century, aligning with Nikolaihof's natural approach in the southern Wachau.

  1. 1975 — First commercial Federspiel Grüner Veltliner from the Schmidl estate
  2. 1998 — Estate transitions to certified biodynamic-practicing status
