Doppiozeta is Zisola's flagship Nero d'Avola from Noto DOC: Mazzei's Tuscan winemaking precision applied to Sicilian Nero d'Avola produces a wine of elegant structure and tobacco-mineral depth.

What it pairs with

  • Bistecca siciliana
Firm structured tannin from Mazzei's Tuscan style finds harmony with char-grilled beef.
  • Roast Sicilian black pig
Tobacco and dark fruit notes complement the richness of the region's indigenous pork breed.
  • Aged caciocavallo podolico
Mineral depth and tobacco character pair well with this prized aged Italian cheese.

History

The Mazzei family from Tuscany established Zisola near Noto in 2003, and by 2005 produced the first Doppiozeta as their top-tier single-estate Nero d'Avola. The double-Z name plays on the estate name and suggests the deepest expression of the Zisola terroir.
