Mandrarossa's Timperosse is one of the rare 100% Petit Verdot bottlings outside Bordeaux: in Sicily's heat the variety reaches complete ripeness, producing an inky, dense and powerfully structured wine with extraordinary colour and longevity.

What it pairs with

  • Braised oxtail with juniper
The wine's power and tannin demand the most collagen-rich and long-cooked cuts.
  • Aged Ragusano DOP
High tannin and dense fruit are the structural match for intensely aged hard cheese.
  • Wild mushroom and truffle risotto
Inky dark fruit and violet notes complement earthy truffle and forest mushroom.

History

Mandrarossa's Timperosse from 100% Petit Verdot was a pioneering experiment in growing this Bordeaux variety in Menfi. Its success inspired other Sicilian estates and it remains Italy's most recognised varietal Petit Verdot.
