Palate: dark fruit, savoury depth

A cru born in 2001 from a selection of Montepulciano off a parcel more than 45 years old, trained to the Abruzzese pergola on a well-ventilated east-facing ridge. Old vines and low yields give a polyphenol-rich, full wine the family calls earthy and refined at once.

What it pairs with

  • Roast beef with rosemary
The firm tannins and weight of a Riserva need roast red meat.
  • Timballo teramano
The local crespelle timbale is the Colline Teramane match for a serious red.
  • Mature pecorino
Long ageing leaves a savoury frame that hard cheese answers.
