History

Murgo's estate Etna Rosso comes from the eastern slopes of the volcano in the Santa Venerina area, providing a contrast to the north-slope dominance of the Etna DOC narrative. The 30-hectare estate has been in the Scammacca del Murgo family since 1860.

  1. 1860 — Estate founded by the Scammacca del Murgo family on the eastern slope
  2. 1990 — Modern winemaking introduced with estate-bottled range
