What it pairs with
-
Roast goose with red cabbage
Full body and pepper notes stand up to the richness of goose; acidity cuts the fat. -
Grilled pike with herb butter
The wine's mineral and herbal notes complement the delicate river fish. -
Pasta with smoked salmon and cream
Full body and acidity balance the rich cream sauce while the mineral note echoes the salmon.
History
Burgstall is a warm, sheltered site above Spitz producing a richer, more structured Grüner Veltliner Smaragd than the Tausendeimerberg. Lagler first bottled this separately in 2000.
