History
Gorgo expanded from its white wine focus in the late 1980s and 1990s to produce Garda DOC reds. The Garda DOC appellation covers both white and red wines from the Lake Garda basin. Merlot was chosen for its compatibility with the morainic soils and the temperate lake climate.
- 1990 — Gorgo introduces Merlot Garda DOC to complement the flagship Bianco di Custoza.
