Frequently asked about Peplo Rose
What does Peplo taste like?
Skouras describes a pale, brilliant soft coral colour with red gold hues, intense and fresh on the nose with strawberry, violet and rose petals alongside lemon citrus, grapefruit and a hint of minerality. The palate has medium body, nerve, acidity, structure and complexity.
Why is Peplo made in three different vessels?
Each variety contributes one third. The Syrah ages on fine lees in stainless steel, the Agiorgitiko in acacia barrels and the Moschofilero in egg-shaped amphorae with four months of skin contact.
Where does the name Peplo come from?
Skouras wraps the Moschofilero skins in a fabric inside the amphora to control extraction; that detail, the peplos, gave the wine its name.
What food pairs with Peplo?
Shrimp saganaki, chicken souvlaki with tzatziki and grilled sardines all suit the wine's citrus lift and amphora-derived texture.
