The producer recommends rich red meat, where the ripe tannin volume finds its match.
  • Braised beef cheek
Liquorice and black chocolate echo the long-reduced braising liquid.

Frequently asked about Fleva Syrah

What does Fleva taste like?

Skouras describes a deep, almost impenetrable red with a nose rich in dark fruits such as blackberries, black cherries and plums, layered with black pepper, liquorice, cloves, thyme, laurel leaves and hints of truffle, black chocolate and tobacco. The palate shows aromatic width, nerve and acidity with ripe tannins.

What grape is Fleva made from?

Fleva is 100 percent Syrah, grown in Achaia at roughly 650 metres of altitude on sandy clay loam and harvested at the beginning of September.

How long is Fleva aged?

Total extraction runs 15 days, malolactic fermentation is completed in barrique and the wine then matures for 12 months in new-oak barriques.

What food pairs with Fleva?

Skouras says the wine is ready to be matched with well-hung game and rich red-meat dishes. Braised beef cheek is an equally good match for its liquorice and chocolate depth.
