What it pairs with
-
Grilled asparagus with olive oil and lemon
Organic Grüner and asparagus is a classic Wachau match; the wine's herbal pepper notes complement the vegetable. -
Steamed white fish
Precise mineral-driven Grüner works well with delicately steamed fish. -
Organic goat cheese
The wine's organic provenance and mineral character pair naturally with artisan goat cheese.
History
Roland Chan founded Domäne Roland Chan in 2012, one of the newer boutique estates in the Wachau. Organic certification and minimal-intervention winemaking distinguish the project; the first Grüner Veltliner Smaragd was bottled in 2014.
