Tiefenbrunner's flagship Chardonnay Riserva from a distinguished Entiklar vineyard adjacent to Vigna AU. Radiant deep straw-yellow with flinty mineral and toasted walnut aromatics; ripe pear, quince and a whisper of citrus zest on the palate with fine tannins and integrated acidity.

What it pairs with

  • Roast capon with sage
Full-bodied Chardonnay pairs with white meat; oak vanilla matches the sage butter.
  • Lobster with butter
Producer's flinty Chardonnay style meets sweet shellfish; high acidity cuts the butter.
  • Risotto with porcini
Toasted walnut and cedar notes flatter porcini umami; the wine's structure carries risotto.

History

Tiefenbrunner introduced Linticlarus Chardonnay in the mid-1990s as the white-wine sibling to Linticlarus Pinot Nero. The Entiklar vineyards adjacent to the famous Vigna AU give the wine its mineral character; the 2023 vintage marks the return of the cuvee to the cellar's portfolio.
