The first vintage of Cepas Viejas was 2002, two years after the bodega was founded at San Román de Bembibre. Fruit is picked into 500 kg containers, fermented with natural yeasts and raised ten months in French oak.
Bright ruby in colour, with an intense nose of black plum, forest fruits, fine spice and a subtle toasted base. The palate is fresh, round and balanced, with delicate tannin and a complex finish.
Ten months in French oak barrels, followed by an average of eighteen months in bottle.
