Aroma: red fruit, sweet spice

Palate: red fruit, spice, salinity

The estate's first wine, drawn from staggered picking across the whole Loreto Aprutino vineyard. Clean fruit with a measured spice lift from old vines and restrained wood, well-evolved tannins and a natural salinity.

What it pairs with

  • Lamb over coals
The estate names grilled lamb, a match for the wine's evolved tannin.
  • Cif e ciaf di maiale
Named by the producer; the Abruzzese pork dish meets the wine's spice.
  • Arrosticini di pecora
Torre dei Beati lists mutton skewers, the region's default red-wine dish.

Frequently asked about Torre dei Beati Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

What does Torre dei Beati Montepulciano taste like?

Ruby red with violet tints and good density, typical and elegant on the nose, with clean well-expressed fruit lightly dressed in spice from the old vineyard and from restrained wood ageing.

How is it aged?

In oak casks, chiefly second-use French barriques, for 15 to 18 months, with the wood used to help the wine stabilise naturally rather than to flavour it.

Is it the estate's first wine?

Yes. It is the first wine Torre dei Beati produced, made from staggered harvests and a second sorting on the selection table across the whole Loreto Aprutino vineyard.
