Gold, deepening to amber with age
Dessert Passito · Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva DOCG · Valpolicella
The estate's Riserva, from grapes dried until they lose at least thirty-five percent of their weight, pressed in January and fermented cool at 13 to 17 degrees with a long maceration, then given at least two years across tonneau and large cask.
No critic score is published for this bottle that we can cite with a reviewer, a vintage and a review year, so none is shown. The rating in the header is our own.
The Musella Amarone Riserva has been made since 1993, the oldest wine in the range. It carries the highest proportion of Oseleta of the estate's Amarones at ten percent, and is pressed a month earlier than the standard Amarone.
Corvina 50 percent, Corvinone 35 percent, Oseleta 10 percent and Rondinella 5 percent, the highest share of Oseleta in the range.
The grapes lose at least thirty-five percent of their weight rather than forty, pressing happens in January rather than February, and the wine spends at least two years across French oak tonneau and larger 3500 and 5000 litre casks before further bottle age.
The estate gives 1993 as the first year of production, making it the longest-running wine in the range.
